It has been a few weeks since I've done this so bare with me with this one
Today Jamie asks us what we wish to read. I know that if I were given a chance to read everything that I have on my imaginary reading list, I would be reading and doing nothing else for a year. So this week I wish to be able to read my reading list that has been growing longer, not shorter over the past four years with all the books I have had to buy in school and with the free ones that I have gotten from the last days of the library's book sale. To put it more simply, I wish to read the books that I own, all of them.
I want to catch my own "reading bug". I will be very happy once I am done with school and I will be able to read and work. It would have been nice to have gotten into reading when I had all this "free time" growing up.
As busy Bridget wishes for herself, so I lovingly and with intenntion wish for her, also!

ReplyDeleteIt will be awesome to read all the books you own! Then, you can go get some more! You can never have too many, right? ;)
Happy Reading!

ReplyDeleteAs far as having read them earlier? I believe you meet books exactly when you are ready for them. So when you get to these books, the timing will be perfect.
(I refused to read the classics when they were forced upon me in hs, then got an MA in literature in my 30s. I never would have gotten so much out of those books if I had read them as a teenager.)

ReplyDeleteAs Bridget wishes for herself, so I wish for her also. I know you will get to all those books on your shelves... I set out to do that myself some years ago. Finances got low and I had to stop my book spending sprees.... that forced me to get on with reading all the books I'd left lonely on the shelf! Good luck!

ReplyDeleteI totally understand - having gone back to school at 40 something - I collected lots of books that are still - a few years later waiting for me to get to them. Here is to long lovely days that you do nothing but curl up and read!! Namaste, Sarah

ReplyDeleteI wonder what a year spent reading would be like. It seems like it might make a great book itself!
As Bridget wishes for herself, so I close my eyes and inhale and grin and wish for her also. Books, aren't they just the same as parallel universes? so hard, sometimes, to cross over to; so hard, sometimes, to leave in order to return to reality!

ReplyDeleteYour wish is making me think of how I'd spend hours reading and reading and reading in the summertime when I was a girl. I'd like to revisit that this summer :) Thank you for the inspiration.
And it's wonderful to have you back wishing!
